W-Van North Shore
Transportation
Survey

About:

As the population of the North Shore continues to grow, we need to plan for this region’s future transportation system and services. The North Shore Transportation Survey is part of the Integrated North Shore Transportation Planning Project (INSTPP). More details about coordinated transportation planning on the North Shore can be found here: https://northshoreconnects.ca.

Your participation will go a long way in shaping how your community moves. By understanding how, where, and why residents travel within the North Shore, we can better plan our future transportation system and services.

Thank you for your interest in the Survey. Access to this survey has been closed.

The North Shore Transportation Survey is a confidential and voluntary survey that tells us how, where, and why residents travel.

The survey data will benefit all residents of the North Shore through informed transportation planning. Your input will help to:

  • Identify travel trends
  • Shape transportation policy
  • Plan improvements to transportation infrastructure
  • Influence budgeting decisions
  • Assess whether transportation initiatives are achieving intended goals
  • Estimate the impact of daily travel on greenhouse gas emissions
This fall, survey invitations will be randomly distributed to North Shore residents, as well as to past survey participants. Participants can complete the survey by phone or online.

The North Shore Transportation Survey is an initiative led by the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, and the District of West Vancouver. The survey is being conducted on their behalf by an independent research firm, R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd.

Your participation is important!

If you received a letter or email from the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, and the District of West Vancouver, you have been randomly selected to participate in the North Shore Transportation Survey.

Whatever your daily travel habits are, your input is valuable and will be used to guide future North Shore transportation planning. It's a huge opportunity to make a difference!

The goal of the survey is to understand where people are going and how they get there. The information you provide will be used to make informed decisions on future planning for roads, public transit, and other transportation facilities.

You may be contacted in the coming years to complete follow-up surveys, as part of the Integrated North Shore Transportation Planning Project (INSTPP). More details about coordinated transportation planning on the North Shore can be found here: https://northshoreconnects.ca.
